Who We Can Help - Confidential Addiction Treatment
Addictions UK offers a range of services to health and Social Services commissioners and to clients with addiction problems. Because of the unique delivery of our programme we are able to support people wherever they may be. Our programme is exceptional in that we can reach people with problems even when they cannot access help in the usual ways.
Identifying the gaps in service provision for alcoholics and addicts was the starting point of our journey to plug the gap in service provision for the groups mentioned below.
It is worth noting however that we do not seek to offer our particular kind of service to all enquirers; some applicants will not be suited to our methodology and will derive benefit from more traditional delivery methods.
» People living in rural areas suffering poverty or with inadequate public transport or with issues surrounding confidentiality within that setting;
» The need to continue in employment for personal or family reasons;
» Individuals who are housebound - or have mobility issues caused by disability or age;
» People engaged in sensitive employment - e.g. key public sector employment status, senior executives in the private sector, professionals- including medics and lawyers etc., entrepreneurs, and people in the public-eye;
» People from black and ethnic minority communities who in many cases do not have access to existing services for cultural and social reasons;
» People with overseas commitments including armed forces, offshore workers, and ex-pats;
» Isolated people from urban areas;
» Lone parents - often scared of losing their children to the care-system;
» Lesbian and gay people who fear institutionalised sexism and homophobia.
